Nippon Columbia Co., Ltd. announces the worldwide release of “SUPER SENTAI SERIES Theme Songs Collection” Volumes 1 - 7, available everywhere digitally July 20th. All seven albums contain the opening and ending theme songs from the complete “35 Super Sentai Series,” and follow up the release of “Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger” in early March.
“Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger” and these seven new releases were, like much of Nippon Columbia’s children oriented content, being illegally downloaded in Japan, overseas, and by users of free internet-based video sharing services. Nippon Columbia has battled this issue by digitally distributing the content worldwide, first beginning with the “Super Sentai Series” theme songs, and now expanding to include the “SUPER SENTAI SERIES Theme Songs Collection” Volumes 1 – 7.
In 1975 “Himitsu Sentai Gorenger” was introduced to television as a superhero after the smash hit “Kamen Rider.” Since then, Super Sentai has broadcasted a new series every year, with the exception of “Gorenger” which was broadcasted for two years. Each series featured multiple heroes, clad in colorful uniforms, who fight to create justice and defeat the enemies.
The“Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger” series saw its last broadcast in 2011 and commemorated the 35th anniversary of the Super Sentai Series. This global release of all seven albums is dedicated to Super Sentai fans all over the world.
