| Celebrating their first release in three years, A Wish For Fire is consecrating the event with a CD Release show at the Middle East Upstairs. Written during the last three years and painstakingly recorded and mixed over a six month period this year, the band was determined take their time to get the sound and feeling just right. Fronted by the unsettled and longing character of singer and guitarist Owen Beane, A Wish For Fire writes tumultuous songs held together with powerful drumming by Anthony Mellace, rock solid bass lines by Dan Lewis and agitated, distant, distraught guitars by Mike Sepavich. Together, they defy conventional structure and blend calm, sometimes chaotic pieces with smooth, sometimes gritty vocals. The Cambridge-based group is promoting their latest effort Sight Unseen (self-released). Their latest was recorded at Time Bomb Studios in Somerville, MA and engineered and mixed by David Adam Monroe. Mastered at New Alliance East, Sight Unseen is a three year audio scrap book created during trying and joyous times in A Wish For Fire's member's lives. The record will be dedicated to the guitar player's late Mother who was a big fan and supporter of the band and considered the fifth member.
