The number one spot for 2011 goes to the incredible Katy Perry, who won Video of The Year on the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards earlier this year. Perry dominated radio, television and computer screens with her irrepressible string of hits from her second album, Teenage Dream, tying a chart record set by Michael Jackson in 1987 for most number one songs off of a single album. Perry’s world arena tour culminated in sold-out shows at NYC’s Madison Square Garden and LA’s Staples Center, and she hosted the December 10 episode of Saturday Night Live.
