I'd love hear people's recommendations - at the moment I'm thrashing Killswitch Engage and Future Of The Left. What's had you hooked in 2009?

I'll see what I can do - had a quick listen to both on Myspace already though. Drudkh sound pretty heavy going, but worth the effort, while Isis have a bit of a Tool vibe to them, and I shall definitely be investigating further.

Drudkh aren't for everyone I would say but Isis have a very hypnotic feel when I listen to them, you just get lost in it. Anyway I thought I would elaborate on a few more albums I could see as being album of the year.
Gorod - Process Of A New Decline
Obscura - Cosmogenesis
Wolves In The Throne Room - Black Cascade
Coalesce - OX
Mono - Hymn To The Immortal Wind
Gwynbleidd - Nostalgia
Mastodon - Crack The Skye
The Mars Volta - Octahedron

Yeah I've had Isis on for about an hour now, it's really mesmerizing stuff. Have you heard Omega Code? They remind me of them.

No problem, glad to know you liked it. If you like Wavering Radiant I would really suggest checking out Panopticon which for me I see as Isis best work.

Getting near to the end of 2009 - my Albums of the Year 2009 will be revealed mid-December, so I'm playing catch up until then. So any suggestions of absolutely amazing albums I may have missed would be most welcome.

Just to let you forum-dwellers know, I have finalised my albums of the year. The announcement will be made on the blog on December 17 - however I'll give Sound Off advance warning so keep 'em peeled here!

For me it’s Earth to mars by Bruno Mars. I love all the songs in this album.
