Someone rang the Echo about this!
Here's the story -
AN ECHO reader has contacted Looking Back to say he was at Led Zeppelin’s rumoured appearance at a Whitwick Working Men’s Club - and he didn’t think they were very rock and roll.
Rumour has it the rock legends played a low key gig in the village before they hit the big time, and Steve Clark from Markfield says he was there.
He said: “They were hopeless, I don’t know how they made it.
“I thought they were bland and boring. They didn’t really win the crowd over, just a few claps, but it was definitely them.
“That said, I’ve always thought they were one of the most overrated bands of all time - they bore me to tears.”
