More to Mr Hudson

What do people think of Mr Hudson, Kanye West's new, erm, understudy?

Supernova is a great track I reckon, but I've still no warmed to the other new stuff.

However if you haven't heard any of his first album, A Tale Of Two Cities, I strongly recommend you to have a listen, it's emotive, piano driven, hip hop tinged brilliance.

Tobacco LP

Oakenthrone posted about an instrumental hip hop group seconds ago - coincidentally while I was listening to the new album by instrumental hip hop artist Tobacco, whose album name I shall not repeat because it's rude.

Dirty bass and beats, and there's a track with Aesop Rock too.

Worth a listen.

Blue Sky Black Death

Trip-Hop, Instrumental Hip-Hop call it what you will but these two producers have worked with alot of people Holocaust/Warcloud & Hell Razah from Wu-Tang to unknown artists like Jean Grae (Rapper) & Yes Alexander (The Casual Lust). They just keep getting better but personally I think their best work is when they release an album on their own.

I may not be the biggest fan of Hip-Hop/Rap but I do like some just not all.

Skits the pits

Is it just me or are the skits you find on rap albums a complete waste of time. Most of them are completely toe-curling, and really spoil the albums.

And why is only rappers that seem to feel the need to do them - you don't get James Hetfield or Tori Amos acting like they're on a Radio 4 comedy show between tracks do you?

I can count the skits I've heard and liked in single figures - am I alone in this?
